Franciscan Tau Cross Rosary

One of my favorites places in the world is Assisi. Around the Italian hill town, there are many tau crosses. The tau cross symbolizes the cross of crucifixion and is associated with St. Anthony of Egypt and St. Francis of Assisi. When I came across these tau wooden crosses, I knew I had to get them for my handmade rosaries! Such a simple yet beautiful olive wood rosary.

This five decade rosary has a Franciscan tau cross, 8mm unpolished olive wood beads, and nylon cord. The tau cross (2″ in length) is handmade in the Holy Land from sustainably harvested, authentic Bethlehem olivewood. Your choice of beige, black, or brown nylon cord. Two cords are strung in between each wooden bead, resulting in durable and strong construction with tight barrel knots. I add in space before tying a barrel knot with the nylon cord so you are able to move the beads when praying. Each olive wood rosary (approximately 14″ in length) is packaged in a clear plastic sleeve with rosary instructions and a 3″x4″ muslin pouch. Natural and earthy rosary

Jacob’s Ladder Wooden Rosary

I love the look and feel of Jacob’s ladder rosaries! This rosary is made with 7mm olive wood beads, nylon cord, and an Italian metal crucifix. Nylon cord is interwoven between each bead to create a durable and rugged rosary. Such a rustic and unique twist on the traditional Catholic rosary!

My olive wood beads are made from 100% authentic Bethlehem olivewood, which was sustainably sourced from olive groves in the Holy Land during the pruning season. The beads are handmade by local craftsman using traditional methods passed down from generation to generation.

Unique & Traditional Wooden Rosaries

Looking for a unique or traditional Catholic rosary?  These handmade rosaries have a bit of a ‘Franciscan’ look to them.  The beautiful rosary on the left has detailed weaving of the brown cord around and through the 6mm olive wood beads.  This creates a strong and durable rosary with the knotted cord.  As for the rosary on the right, it was traditionally made with spaces to move each bead when praying.  Very simple yet elegant with the marbled wood beads.  Both rosaries have the Jerusalem wooden cross which enhances the natural and rustic look.  They measure approximately 12″ in length, putting them on the small side for rosaries.  My rosaries come with a 3″x4″ muslin pouch along with instructions on how to pray the rosary.
