Unique & Traditional Wooden Rosaries

Looking for a unique or traditional Catholic rosary? These handmade rosaries have a bit of a ‘Franciscan’ look to them. The beautiful rosary on the left has detailed weaving of the brown cord around and through the 6mm olive wood beads. This creates a strong and durable rosary with the knotted cord. As for the rosary on the right, it was traditionally made with spaces to move each bead when praying. Very simple yet elegant with the marbled wood beads. Both rosaries have the Jerusalem wooden cross which enhances the natural and rustic look. They measure approximately 12″ in length, putting them on the small side for rosaries. My rosaries come with a 3″x4″ muslin pouch along with instructions on how to pray the rosary.

Just in time for fall! Great ‘thankful’ cards for all occasions – from fall wedding thank you cards to teacher appreciation cards. Sometimes when I start a painting, I have a clear idea as to what it will look like. However, on other occasions, the painting takes over and leads me down a beautiful path I would never have imagined. When I started this painting, I wanted to focus on the leaves with the ‘thankful’ theme. After the painting was complete, I took another glance at it and noticed the positioning of the leaves and the interplay with the blue negative space. What an optical illusion! Some people see a figure in the middle of the leaves – I call him the dancing man.

Every time I see this image, I am so thankful!

Catholic Wedding Gift Idea!

My ‘Love scripture verse’ card is simple yet beautiful, very similar to my olive wood rosaries. This rosary gift set would make a lovely wedding gift for a Catholic couple. There are so many things to love about olive wood. Olive wood is hard, heavy, and strong. What a great material for handmade rosaries! There is such a variety of wood grain in a container of olive wood beads. When I sit down to make olive wood rosaries, I sort through the beads and select beads that complement each other. As an artist, I want to create a rosary that is as beautiful to look at as it is functional to pray with. Hence the reason for my double cords through each bead as it allows for more stability and durability.
